ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
What is the Zoning Board of Appeals and why is it needed?
If a constituent feels the Zoning Administrator has ruled erroneously on an official request, or that a property situation is unique and requires a variance or exception from the rules, the case can be taken to the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) and a panel of citizen volunteers from the townships hears your case. Any appeals from the ZBA's decision would then be a matter for the courts.
